Day 01 Oslo

Arrive in Oslo. Overnight in Oslo

DAY 02 Oslo

After breakfast go on a sightseeing tour of Oslo. Overnight in Oslo

Day 03 Oslo – Alta - Hammerfest

After breakfast go to the airport. Depart by air to northern Norway. (2 hours flying time). From the airport take a bus from Alta to Hammerfest. Go to your hotel and check in. Now you are in the land of the Midnight sun. Hammerfest is the northernmost town in the world, the gate towards the Barents Sea. Once in Hammerfest you can become a member of the Royal and Ancient Polar Bear Society. Overnight stay in Hammerfest.

DAY 04 Hammerfest – Honningsvåg/North Cape

Leave on the Norwegian Coastal Steamer – Hurtigruten (6.45 – 11.45). It will be an early morning, but it is worth it. This tour is called the world’s most beautiful sea voyage. Be out on deck and look at the amazing arctic nature. You will travel east through Magerøysund sound to Honningsvåg. Thanks to its excellent sheltered harbour, Honningsvåg has become a major fishing port and the capital of the North Cape region. At midday you arrive at Honningsvåg, which is the only town at the North Cape Island. Go to your hotel and check in, and have all afternoon to look around in Honningsvåg. After dinner at the hotel there is a public bus leaving from the town centre to North Cape. Enter the North Cape hall. In there are several shops, a wide screen movie, a post office for special North Cape stamps and many other things. Don’t miss to go out to the famous North Cape cliffs and look at the end of the world and weather permitting see the sun that never sets. After midnight the same bus leaves from North Cape back to Honningsvåg. It is about 45 minutes drive through amazingly beautiful landscape and daylight – at midnight.

DAY 05 Honningsvåg – Alta

Have breakfast at the hotel. Depending on weekday you will have to depart by bus in the morning – or you may have time to explore Honningsvåg and the surrounding area. (4 hours drive). Back in Alta you go to your hotel and check in and spend the night in Alta.

DAY 06 Alta – Oslo- Bergen

After breakfast (time permitting) go from the hotel to see the Rock Carvings. The Alta rock carvings are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They are 6000 to 2500 years old from the late Stone Age and early Bronze Age. The carvings have everyday motifs: animals such as bears, moose and reindeer, hunting situations and boats are the most common figures. There are human figures in processions and magical symbols. Go to the airport and fly back to Oslo and from there straight on to Bergen. Overnight stay in Bergen.

DAY 07 Bergen

After breakfast go on a sightseeing tour in Bergen, and get to know more about Bergen’s rich history as a trading and commercial center. The Bryggen area shows what the town looked like during the period when the Hanseatic League was in power in Bergen. Overnight stay in Bergen.

DAY 08 Bergen – Ulvik (Hardangerfjord)

On the Hardanger in a nutshell trip, you will experience a journey through a landscape of majestic mountains, roaring waterfalls and idyllic orchards. You start travel by bus and after by boats. Ulvik is situated at the north end of the Ulvikafjord, an arm of the Hardangerfjord. surrounded by high mountains. Overnight stay in Ulvik.

DAY 09 Ulvik - Voss

Breakfast at the hotel. Day at leisure for own activities. There is an option to take a sightseeing tour to the nearby glaciers. In the afternoon depart by bus to Voss where you spend the night.

DAY 10 Voss - Balestrand

After breakfast at the hotel you take a bus to Gudvangen where you board a boat that will take you on a cruise on the Sognefjord to Flåm. In Flåm change boat to Balestrand. Afternoon sightseeing tour to the glaciers, Overnight stay in Balestrand.

Day 11 Balestrand - Geilo

After breakfast you will travel on a unique tour through some of the most magnificent scenery in and along the Norwegian Fjords! You start to travel by boat from Balestrand back to Flåm. In Flåm you change to the special Flåm line train, a masterpiece of engineering set in wild and wonderful countryside of high mountains and thundering waterfalls. In Myrdal change to a train to Geilo. Overnight stay in Geilo.

DAY 12 Geilo- Oslo

After breakfast travel by express train to Oslo. Overnight stay in Oslo.

DAY 13 Oslo – return flight

Today it is time to say goodbye to Norway.
