Four Scandinavian countries 13days_12nights_Rovaniemi

Day 01 Arrival in Helsinki

Arrival in Helsinki. Transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day to familiarize yourself with this splendid city. Overnight stay in Helsinki.

DAY 02 Helsinki – Night train – Rovaniemi

In the morning go on a sightseeing tour of Helsinki (SIC) during which you will see the historical centre and the diplomatic quarters, the Presidential Palace, City Hall, the Parliament Buildings, Finlandia Hall and the Opera House. Stop at Senate Square, the Sibelius Monument and at the Temppeliaukio Church in the rocks. The tour ends in the city centre. In the evening you will board on the night train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi. Accommodation in comfortable 2-berth cabins.

Day 03 Rovaniemi

Arrival in Rovaniemi, go to your hotel and check in. You will go on a Santa Claus Village tour. Your adventure begins with a refreshing cruise on a traditional riverboat along the Kemijoki and Ounasjoki rivers. A visit to the home of Lappish family and their workshop is the first stop on our cruise. After this, the riverboat will take you to a local reindeer farm, where you can learn about Lappish culture and reindeer rearing. Enjoy a delicious Lappish lunch and participate in a ceremonial crossing of the Arctic Circle during your visit to the farm. In the afternoon, the tour continues by car to the Santa Claus Village for a meeting with Mr. Claus himself, after which you have a chance to do some shopping before returning to the city Overnight stay in Rovaniemi.

DAY 04 Rovaniemi

Breakfast at hotel. Today you have free day to explore the city on your own. Overnight night stay in Rovanie

DAY 05 Rovaniemi - Helsinki – Tallink Silja Line to Stockholm

After breakfast, check out from hotel and go to airport. You will fly from Rovaniemi to Helsinki. After arrival at Helsinki transfer yourself to the Viking Line port. In the early afternoon it is time to board the cruise ship for the crossing to Stockholm. Enjoy a Scandinavian buffet dinner on the ship. After dinner you can dance the night away in the nightclub, linger in the various shops, or enjoy the scenery. Accommodation on board in comfortable 2-berth cabins.

DAY 06 Stockholm

Enjoy a sumptuous Scandinavian breakfast buffet before arriving in Stockholm, but make sure to be out on deck as the ship sails into the beautiful Stockholm harbour. With its 24 000 islands, the Stockholm archipelago is quite unique. Disembark in Stockholm and go to your hotel to check in. Later go for a sightseeing tour (SIC). Stockholm is often called the “Beauty on Water” being built on 14 islands. See all of Stockholm by bus and by boat. Clients will enjoy a panoramic bus ride through the city and finish the tour with a boat ride around the Royal Park Djurgården. This tour is a combination of the Stockholm Panorama bus tour and the Royal Canal Tour. This tour starts with a coach trip around the city, viewing the best known sites and buildings. After one hour and a half, we transfer to a boat to sail around the royal park of Djurgården and past the most inner archipelago islands. The rest of the afternoon is free to wander around on your own. You have time to visit to the Vasa ship museum to see the warship Vasa – the only remaining, intact 17th century ship in the world. Overnight stay in Stockholm.

DAY 07 Stockholm – Oslo

After breakfast go to the railway station and take a 1st class train from Stockholm to Oslo. After arrival in Oslo, go to the hotel and check in. Rest of the day to familiarize yourself with Oslo. Overnight stay in Oslo.

DAY 08 Oslo

After breakfast go on a sightseeing tour of Oslo (SIC). This is an extensive sightseeing tour with many of beautiful and interesting sights: Downtown Oslo, Vigeland Sculpture Park, Holmenkollen and the Viking Ships. From Bygdøy: return to the city center the entire year by boat or bus. (By boat, weather permitting). Tour: Bus + a bit of walking + boat (boat, weather permitting and in cooperation with Båtservice Sightseeing AS.).Overnight stay in Oslo.

DAY 09 Oslo – Flåm

After breakfast go on the famous “Norway in a Nutshell” trip. This unique tour takes you through some of the most magnificent scenery in and along the Norwegian Fjords! Your first stop will be in Myrdal where you change to the special Flåm line, a masterpiece of engineering set in wild and wonderful countryside of high mountains and thundering waterfalls. Overnight stay in Flåm.

DAY 10 Flåm – Bergen

After breakfast continue on the “Norway in a Nutshell” tour. In Flåm you board a boat that will take you on an about 2 hour’s tour on the Aurland fjord, an arm of the Sognefjord. This is one of the narrowest fjord inlets in Western Norway, surrounded by mountains up to 1800 m. Small farms lie dotted along the mountainsides. In Gudvangen you will be picked up by a bus that will take you to Voss where you change to a train that will take you to Bergen. On the way you will drive up the steep and spectacular Stalheimskleivane hairpin bends, from where you have a fantastic view of the Stalheim waterfall. Arrive in Bergen in the early afternoon. Bergen is Norway's second largest city. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Bergen.

DAY 11 Bergen - Copenhagen

In the morning go on a guided sightseeing tour of Bergen (SIC). Guided tour with the sightseeing train "Bergens Expressen". The tour takes us through the central streets of Bergen, past the Fish Market, along the colourful port "Bryggen", with its wooden buildings from centuries back, and passing clusters of cosy, wooden houses so characteristic of Bergen. Drive up a section of Mount Fløien, to enjoy a view of Bergen. Later depart by air from Bergen to Copenhagen. Copenhagen’s one-thousand-year history has been written by ambitious kings, inspiring artists and celebrated designers as is evident in its historical buildings, ancient streets, dozens of world-class museums and galleries. The rest of the afternoon is free to browse through the many fine shops throughout the city. Overnight stay in Copenhagen.

DAY 12 Copenhagen

After breakfast go on a sightseeing tour of Copenhagen (SIC). On the tour we pass by the Tivoli Gardens and the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. We drive through the colourful canal district, past the National Museum and past Christiansborg Palace, home to the Danish Parliament. We continue on to The Old Stock Exchange and across Kongens Nytorv, where we can see the Royal Theatre, world famous for its Royal Ballet. The tour continues past the colourful harbour district of Nyhavn to Amalienborg Palace - winter residence of the Royal Family. Here we have the opportunity of seeing the changing of the Danish Royal Guard. This is followed by a visit to the Gefion Fountain and The Little Mermaid, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy-tale. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Copenhagen.

Day 13 Copenhagen - return flight

Today it is time to say goodbye to Scandinavia and fly home.
